It’s International Real Bread Week and so we thought we would take this opportunity to tell you all about our commitment to the Real Bread Campaign.
Real Bread, a branch of the charity Sustain, is committed to making bread without any of the additives that are often used in bread making today.
The key ingredients used in bread are:
Real Bread promotes the idea that any other ingredient is superfluous. Of course they do not object to adding natural ingredients to enhance flavour or texture etc such as nuts, seeds, cheese!
That is the ethos that we follow when making our bread. The only ingredients we add to the essential ingredients are also all natural: milk or walnuts for example. The Real Bread Campaign highlights that bread is not real bread if the flour that you’re using contains additives. We are supplied by the wonderful Mungoswells Malt and Milling who are committed to ensuring their flour has nothing taken out or put in.
